SADI Minutes for the meeting Wed Jan 7th 2009

Bert Moncur Presiding.
There were 41 Members present and appologies for 3 were accepted.
The meeting was opened by the chairman and wished all members present a happy and properous New Year. He then thanked Janet for putting herself forward on behalf of SADI members to do a boxing day dip which raised £350 for the various charitys. The members had a vote and decided unanimously to donate £100 to her sponsor sheet from SADI funds.
There was a brief discussion on advertising SADI in the local newspapers to try and attract more business for some members who were finding it a little hard at this time of year especially with the credit crunch hitting all types of businesses.
A discussion also took place to see how members felt about the on-going website saga, it was felt that with a new year starting we should start from scratch and someone in to design and run a site solely for SADI where members could also have an input.
Andy is now the sports and social committee member as Steve has stood down ( I got a bit sweaty then just writing about fitness)
There was no financial report as Billy was delayed however suffice to say we are in the black and we will have more idea come the AGM.
The chairman handed over to Dean to give a brief talk on events . It was mentioned by Dean to try and make the meetings a little more constructive and wanted ideas to implement in future to improve members skills such as workshops, all ideaswill be considered so anyone who has an idea please put it forward for discussion.
He also mentioned inviting speakers eg. John Sherridon a leading member of the CPD steering committee.
Or if anyone has any ideas of who they would like to see to put the names forward and the committee will try to approach those people and see if they would like to give a short talk.

The Next meeting will be the AGM and is to be held at The Barnes Hotel on 4th Feb 2009.
